Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Product / Merchandise Planner to lead DHaRCO’s product planning and development. This role combines range planning, forecasting, budget and product management — overseeing everything from line planning and margin targets to development timelines and factory coordination.

You’ll work closely with the Product team and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver ranges that align with brand direction, meet commercial goals, and arrive on time. It’s a hands-on role where strategy meets execution — perfect for someone who enjoys both the creative and analytical sides of a product role.

Key Responsibilities:

Range & Merchandise Planning

  • Build seasonal range plans by category and region.
  • Set and monitor product counts, pricing, margin targets, and key styles for each collection.
  • Forecast units and sales with input from sales data and regional feedback.
  • Manage the Open-to-Buy (OTB) and work with Finance to stay on budget.
  • Analyse performance, trends and performance each season to guide re-stocks and future ranges.

Product Development & Production Management

  • Oversee the full product timeline — from concept and sampling to production and delivery.
  • Work with factories to ensure quality, margin, and on-time production.
  • Work with the team on fabric sourcing, trims, and new innovations that improve performance or sustainability.
  • Keep pricing and cost sheets accurate for all styles.
  • Ensure sustainability goals and material standards are integrated where possible.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to plan launches and ensure stock timing matches demand.
  • Help align product stories and key looks with marketing and team riders.
  • Coordinate across regions (AU, EU, US, CA) to build globally relevant assortments.
  • Communicate internally and keep teams up to date.

Team & Process Leadership

  • Manage the product calendar and ensure deadlines are met across all stages of development.
  • Lead and support the Product team with clear priorities and direction.
  • Continuously improve tools and systems for planning, reporting, and communication (e.g., Google, Cin7, etc.).

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in merchandise planning, budget management, product management, or range planning within apparel or lifestyle brands.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with confidence managing budgets, forecasts, and margin targets.
  • Excellent understanding of apparel development and production, ideally with experience in offshore manufacturing.
  • Organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple product categories and deadlines.
  • Confident communicator who can work closely with multiple departments in a small, fast-moving environment.
  • A balance of creative thinking and commercial focus — able to see both the story and the numbers.

What Success Looks Like

  • Clear range plans that balance creativity and commercial goals.
  • On-time, well-costed product launches.
  • Improved visibility of product data and forecasting accuracy.
  • A small, motivated product team working smoothly together.
