NatureĀ is at the heart of mountain biking. It isĀ one of the factors thatĀ makes mountain biking truly exceptional - we get to spend time in nature whilst having fun! As mountain bikers we explore and are closer to nature than most people, thus we also feel the need to protect it.
We don't claim to be perfect, but we're taking steps everyday to minimise our impact and to create products and a conscious working environment where we make choices to select sustainable fabric technology and constantly look for opportunities to do more.Ā
Here's a look at some of the actions we're taking.
Used in our Tech Tees, Tanks and Long Sleeve Tech Tees -Ā drireleaseĀ is a US-patented fabric technology which keepĀ you cool, dry, fresh and comfortable. It looks and feels like a cotton t-shirt butĀ with exceptional technical properties.
The brilliance ofĀ DRĀ fabrics is the engineered combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers that allow them to engage with moisture naturally to dramatically improve how wetness is pulled from the skin and released into the air. A lot of fabrics use a chemical finish to claim they are "quick drying", where as theĀ drireleaseĀ fabric naturally produces this effect built into the fibers.
Because the technical properties ofĀ drireleaseĀ fabrics is not from chemical finishes, it means the fabric is a lot better for the environment and the end user. The technical benefits are also permanent, ie: it will not wash out over time, so it lasts longer and means less consumption.
New for 2020 our Gravity Shorts and Pants are made using BLUESIGN approved fabric technology.Ā
BLUESIGNĀ is a system that provides safer and more sustainable environments for people to work in and everyone to live in. BLUESIGN traces each textileās path along the manufacturing process, making improvements at every stage from factory floor to finished product. BLUESIGN changes the environmental impact of textiles for good.
BLUESIGN Approved identifies products that haveĀ been manufactured with the highestĀ degree of safety for the consumer and theĀ lowest possible impact on people and the environment.
